According to the Istanbul Exporters Union, and textiles and clothing, yearly output in sector increased by more than 20%, more than three times the overall rate of economic growth in Turkey.   Exports of readymade garments is 3 / 4 of total revenue from exports to the textile sector (6,2 billion dollars in 1996).
